Mental Health Awareness Week starts Oct. 7

The epidemic of mental health in minority communities is a serious problem I cannot in good conscience continue to ignore.
I'm making it my duty to uproot the stigma that therapy has in the black community. The only way I know how to do that is to keep sharing my story.

Some years ago, I was almost successful at a suicide attempt trying to run from my past traumas. After being institutionalized I was forced to attack my trauma head on and I've never been more at peace. Prayer, meditation, and THERAPY saved my life. It's time to break the stigma. You deserve peace.

With Mental Illness Awareness Week approaching I thought it was a good time to share a little. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder are my diagnosis but they don't define me. These disorders have however taught me to be more gentle to myself and to protect my peace at all cost. Be kind to yourself folks. I'm here if you need to talk.
